(Future?) Badger Observer: 2027 offensive lineman Reece Mallinger
A look at an in-state lineman who doesn't have a Wisconsin offer yet, but is putting plenty of standout reps on film.

GERMANTOWN, Wis. — Reece Mallinger’s picking up steam on the recruiting trail after a hampered sophomore season.
Mallinger has worked his way back from two shoulder surgeries last year and now holds Power Four offers from Minnesota and Northwestern. He’s also being recruited by the University of Wisconsin football program.
“It's been definitely ups and downs,” Mallinger said. “I did PT the entire time last year. My shoulders are finally strong. They're healthy. I'm back in the weight room, weights are moving pretty easily.
“And it’s overall been really well. These Douglas braces definitely, definitely help the stability.”
Mallinger and his twin brother, fellow 2027 offensive lineman Hunter Mallinger, helped Sussex Hamilton grind out a 23-21 conference win at Germantown on Friday. The (Future?) Badger Observer series continues, covering and evaluating uncommitted players who are being recruited by Wisconsin. We’ve already seen a few class of 2027 in-state recruits and will be watching more over the course of the fall.
Be sure to check out our breakdowns of Verona offensive lineman Ethan McIntosh, Waukesha Catholic Memorial’s Isaac Miller and Germantown’s Cole Reiter from the last few weeks. Watch for an article on Hunter Mallinger come Thursday as well.
