(Future?) Badger Observer: 2027 offensive lineman Ethan McIntosh
Introducing a spinoff series where Badger Observer checks out an uncommitted recruit that Wisconsin is targeting. First up, a Wisconsin legacy that really needs no introduction.

VERONA, Wis. — Power Four linemen with connections to the University of Wisconsin football program clashed head-to-head during a Big Eight Conference battle Friday.
2027 recruit Ethan McIntosh and Verona hosted Minnesota offensive line commit Gavin Meier and Janesville Parker. McIntosh, of course, is the son of former Wisconsin captain, All-American and current Wisconsin athletic director Chris McIntosh. McIntosh received an offer with Chris in attendance during the Badgers’ final summer camp in June.
Meier emerged as a Wisconsin target for the 2026 class earlier this year, visiting campus multiple times before eventually committing to archrival Minnesota in the spring. The two locked horns on the field during a few reps with McIntosh anchored as Verona’s left tackle and Meier playing defensive line.
“He's a really good player,” McIntosh said of Meier. “It's kind of crazy to think like I could be seeing him in a couple years at the next level, so that’s really cool to get going from here and show best-on-best.”
Verona asserted itself on the ground early and came away with a 30-0 home win, as according to Bound Wisconsin, the Wildcats accumulated 268 yards rushing on 6.4 yards per carry and three touchdowns.
“I think the whole team came together playing smart football,” McIntosh said. “In the last couple weeks, got some penalties and some bad plays that isn't what we do here.
“And I think tonight we just eliminated those and just played our game.”
This is the first installment of a spinoff series called (Future?) Badger Observer where we’ll travel and watch uncommitted recruits that Wisconsin is targeting. There are plenty of 2027 in-state recruits that Badger Observer will be watching, so stay tuned in the coming weeks for more.
Similarly to the (Future) Badger Observer series, here’s a full postgame interview with McIntosh, along with a breakdown of why Wisconsin is recruiting the Badgers legacy.
