4 takeaways after catching up with Wisconsin volleyball All-American Charlie Fuerbringer
A Tuesday chat with the All-American setter and her return to the court for the Badgers.
MADISON, Wis. — Charlie Fuerbringer didn’t think she’d miss over a month’s worth of matches after exiting a home clash against a conference foe.
The University of Wisconsin volleyball team swept Michigan on Oct. 5 with freshman Addy Horner taking over setting duties for Fuerbringer, but then she’d eventually miss the next nine matches due to a shoulder injury.
“Initially, I thought I’d be totally fine,” Fuerbringer said. “Right there, actually thought I’d come back out and play.
“And then as we got some more results back, then it was a little scarier not knowing just a lot of unknowns for a couple weeks.”
The Badgers went 6-3 in Fuerbringer’s absence, but she finally returned against No. 18 Indiana on Sunday. The sophomore hardly showed any rust as she recorded 28 assists, eight digs, two kills, one block and one service ace in the three-set sweep of the Hoosiers.
Here are three other takeaways from the 8-minute chat with Fuerbringer on Tuesday, along with the full video interview below.
