MADISON, Wis. — The third week of fall camp for the University of Wisconsin football team has seen some Badgers needing to step up with others missing time.

One position group where this was most notably seen Thursday was at tight end. Tucker Ashcraft is out for the remainder of fall camp due to a lower body injury suffered earlier this week, according to a Wisconsin spokesperson. The junior from Seattle had a strong showing catching the ball Monday and has been receiving consistent first-team reps since spring ball.

Transfer Lance Mason, who’s acted like a black hole this month in seemingly reeling in almost every pass thrown to or around him, continued to receive first-team snaps Thursday. Redshirt freshman Grant Stec also received time with the first-team offense along with second-team work.

Here are some other thoughts from Thursday’s practice.
