Inside the Dallas Pulse's selections of 2 Wisconsin volleyball standouts in 2026 Major League Volleyball Draft
Badger Observer spoke with Dallas Pulse CEO and owner Grady Raskin and coach Shannon Winzer about Mimi Colyer and Carter Booth
Grady Raskin admitted he and his Dallas Pulse are still getting their legs underneath them as an expansion franchise.
But it “wasn’t that big of a challenge” in selecting Mimi Colyer as the first overall selection in the 2026 Major League Volleyball draft Monday.
Colyer, a University of Wisconsin volleyball standout and one of the nation’s best collegiate players, has received quite a few honors during her career. She now holds the distinction of being Dallas’ first selection in the organization’s history and could be joined in “The Lone Star State” by her teammate, middle blocker Carter Booth. Booth was selected by the Pulse in the third round.
“Scoring points, as we all know, is incredibly important, and so (Colyer) was a natural fit and a natural person to be our selection at No. 1,” said Raskin, Dallas’ CEO and owner.
