Former Wisconsin volleyball standout CC Crawford fulfills goal of playing for LOVB Madison
Catching up with the former Badgers middle blocker of takeaways from her first two seasons as a professional and reuniting with a few familiar faces at LOVB Madison.
CC Crawford’s professional career’s taken her from Indianapolis to Italy, and the former University of Wisconsin volleyball standout’s next stop is a familiar place.
Crawford, a middle blocker who played at Wisconsin from 2022-25, initially started with Major League Volleyball’s Indy Ignite and played one season alongside former Badgers setter Sydney Hilley. Then she fulfilled a dream by heading overseas as a member of CBF Balducci HR Macerata of the highly-regarded Serie A1 League, but the self-described homebody is back stateside and one of League One Volleyball’s (LOVB) 2026-27 signees. LOVB Madison announced last week that she will join the team, which has some familiar faces for her to get reacquainted with.
“I actually signed last fall, and the way it works with this league is they you sign, but they put you on a team,” Crawford told Badger Observer last week. “They kind of ask the area you want to be in, and I knew I had a strong chance of being on the Madison team, and one of my goals was to eventually play for this team.
“I obviously love the city. I went to school there. Love the people. I know a lot of people from the area, love the fan base, and so it ended up working out.”
