Tuf Borland started off Wednesday morning with hearing some good news from a four-star junior linebacker.

Cale Britt, a linebacker from Orlando Bishop Moore in Florida, has seen his recruiting process explode since the spring. June was a month filled with trips to numerous Power Four programs. which included a multi-day visit to Madison where he was one of the standouts of the Badgers’ summer camps.

Britt missed Borland’s call earlier this week. The two found the right time to chat, and Britt had made his mind up where he wanted to play at the next level. When he connected with Borland on an 8 a.m. video call, he told the linebackers coach of his decision and sent him his commitment video. Borland then found defensive coordinator Mike Tressel, who received the same message.

“Coach Tressel almost broke a hole in the wall,” Britt said. “He hit it so hard.”

“He was banging on the wall. They were ecstatic.”

Britt’s busy Wednesday morning continued by releasing said commitment video on social media, making him the first announced player in the Badgers’ 2028 class. Michigan and Penn State were his other top schools, but there were a couple reasons why he chose Wisconsin.
