It was just over two weeks away from the 2026 early signing period, and Maddox Cochrane made the tough call to look for a new program.

Cochrane had been verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin football program since April, and he was one of two offensive linemen for its 2026 class. But the Virginia native, who played for Richmond Benedictine College Prep, announced Monday his decommitment from the Badgers and reopened his recruiting process.
