A busy weekend for Wisconsin athletics kicked off with a sunny practice inside Camp Randall Stadium. Here's what to know.
MADISON, Wis. — Grant Stec must love the southeastern corner of the end zone on the grass field just north of Camp Randall Stadium.
Stec, a redshirt sophomore, capped off a strong performance by the offense during the April 25th scrimmage by leaping and snagging a Deuce Adams throw with one hand in the back of the end zone. Saturday’s practice saw Stec reel in yet another pass out of the air, this time from quarterback Colton Joseph, in the same area for a score.
Stec’s one of a few tight ends who will be relied upon to emerge and replace the production of the NFL-bound Lance Mason, who caught 30 passes for 398 yards and four touchdowns for Wisconsin last season. He, Emmett Bork and Jacob Harris all could be options for Joseph and Badgers quarterbacks.
