7 thoughts from Wisconsin football fall camp practice No. 7
The summer grind continues for the Badgers in Platteville, as the defensive line appears to have depth, some notes on a couple of freshmen, and more.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — One of the University of Wisconsin football team’s spring transfers last year has found his stride.
Defensive lineman Brandon Lane came to Wisconsin from FCS Stephen F. Austin, but he only recorded four tackles in eight games last season. He played with more confidence, passion and edge during spring ball, according to defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow in April, and the game was slowing down for the Kansas City, Missouri, native.
Lane has since received some first-team reps on an apparently deep defensive line during training camp, and he outworked the first-team offensive line for a pressure during an 11-on-11 team period Wednesday.
Whitlow continued to echo his previous praise on Lane.
“The biggest thing is I feel he's a lot more comfortable with the defense,” Whitlow said Wednesday. “He's playing with a lot of confidence. He's playing aggressive. He's playing on the attack.
“So really been pleased with how he was in the spring, the offseason he's had, and heading into fall camp, just how fast and how confident he's playing right now.”
Here are a few other thoughts from Wednesday’s practice.
