Get ready to see a lot of new faces on the field for the University of Wisconsin football program in the coming weeks.

Wisconsin released Wednesday its 2026 spring football roster as practices commence Thursday morning. The program welcomed nearly 50 new players to the program, beginning with the 2026 early signing period in December through the very busy January transfer portal window, as coach Luke Fickell starts his fourth season in Madison.

Badger Observer will be publishing a handy study guide for Wisconsin fans to become more acquainted with the new players on the roster, because local reporters will most certainly need to familiarize themselves in short order.

Let’s get to the full takeaways from the spring roster breakdown.

Meet Wisconsin football’s newest transfer signees

Wisconsin signed 34 transfers during the offseason, highlighted by quarterback Colton Joseph (Old Dominion), running back Abu Sama II (Iowa State) and defensive backs Javan Robinson (Arizona State/Washington State) and Marvin Burks Jr. (Missouri).

Here’s the full list of transfers from Wisconsin, in order of their jersey numbers, which also includes their positions, measurables and eligibility.

Meet Wisconsin football’s freshman midyear enrollees

The Badgers also signed 14 scholarship freshmen for its class of 2026, and in keeping with the current trend of the college football landscape, 12 enrolled in January. That allowed those first-year players a head start on the winter offseason strength and conditioning program and the forthcoming spring practices.

Two other freshmen signees, defensive back Donovan Dunmore and running back Qwantavius Wiggins, and a few walk-ons are set to arrive in the summer.
